Pick a driver and a kart, then hit the track. Drift through corners to fill your nitro gauge, and let go at the right moment for a burst of speed. Item races add missiles, water bombs, banana peels and more, and the further back you are, the better your luck at the item box.
Each track has its own trick: geysers on Volcano Valley, a tram crossing on Harbour Night, a glow-worm cave and a waterfall exit on Rainforest Falls.
